FAMILY Eric, and his wife, Somporn Ketaroonrat (Noi), have lived in Lincolnia, Virginia since 2019 as empty nesters while their sons have graduated from college, James, and Joel (University of Virginia-Charlottesville), now live in Bangkok, Thailand.

GOVERNMENT Served as an Outreach Marketing Specialist Appointee by the Southeast Regional Administrator for the United States Small Business Administration, and a Loan Specialist in SBA’s Disaster Division.

TEACHING In his early retirement, he became an ESL Teacher at Uceda International. and is currently working as a Substitute Teacher at Alexandria City, Arlington County Public Schools.

BUSINESS After Eric worked as an Event Coordinator for Marriott International for 11 years, he innovatively founded a golf cart parking lot shuttle service employing over 100 seasonal drivers throughout the Southeastern United States.

COMMUNITY Before coming to Virginia, he formed many partnerships with groups like the Harriet Tubman Learning Institute, Boys2Men Home & Sanctuary for Youth, Cobb County NAACP, and Youth Entrepreneurs by promoting self-reliance teaching programs as an Outreach Director for Americans for Prosperity’s Bridge to Well-Being Program.

BACKGROUND Eric graduated from Cleveland State University (Ohio) with a BBA in Marketing (1987). After college he worked as a Job Developer for the 70001 Program at the Canton Urban League until he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he was a Marketing Coordinator at Shop-N-Chek, a mystery shopping service.
